During Sabarimala season (November–January) the airport fills with Ayyappa pilgrims heading for Kumily and the Pamba route — book your onward car ahead, because walk-up availability disappears on peak weekends. Year-round, flights from Singapore, Dubai and Colombo bring Tamil families home to Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram and Virudhunagar districts.
